Barry Zweibel, life coach, here (again). Just attended an ICF Volunteer Conference Call. Some cool flash-stats to share:
- they're expecting some 1,600 people for the keynote presentations
- each breakout session room will have somewhere between 350-400 seats
- attendees from 44 different countries are scheduled to attend
I'll be one of the Greeters, so be sure to stop by, say hello, ask your questions, and share a hug!
Who else out there is volunteering to be a Greeter, Room Host, Networking Facilitator, Bookstore person, etc.? It's a nice way to give back, isn't it?

I'm in awe of greeters, Barry, as it is a role I would find very challenging. But I agree with you about volunteering. It's fun. It's interesting. And it is a nice way to give back.
There's a group of volunteers that may be invisible to some of us. Believe it or not, they're the presenters. Sure, they are right out there in plain view, but many folks may not realize or appreciate the implications of the fact that they are not only volunteers, but that they pay the full conference fee just like everyone else. That's a substantial contribution of time, resources, and money. (Many of our presenters command quite handsome fees for their speaking and facilitation work.)
I imagine we can each make a volunteer's day by pausing to say "thank you."
