Word of Mouth, Buzz, Viral? What does it all mean?

I recently ran across a great "manifesto" that explains the difference between Word of Mouth, Buzz and Viral Marketing. It's written by Dave Balter who is the President of BzzAgent, a word of mouth marketing and research firm. Download WordOfMouth Manifesto

This manifesto gives you very clear definitions and examples of the 3 types of marketing vehicles, how they are different and when and how each can be used to get the best outcomes. It's a quick read and I highly recommend it for anyone marketing on both on and offline.

I learned about the manifesto because I'm a BzzAgent and then I discovered another site where the manifesto is posted which is Changethis.com, a site dedicated to spreading big ideas. You'll find quite a few manifestos posted on a wide variety of subjects.
