Buying & Selling a Blog

I've just listened to a two part podcast with Michael Pollock and Yaro Starak.  If you're at all interested in online business, small business marketing, and blogging, you'll want to listen to this podcast.  Here's why:

Michael Pollock published the popular Small Business Branding Blog for well over a year.  In late December he decided it was time to move on so he could focus on his Solostream Global Media project.  He mentioned his intent to Yaro Starak who publishes Entrepreneur's Journey, another very popular blog for small business and Internet marketing.

To make a long story short, Yaro purchased Michael's blog.  The 2 part podcast features a discussion between them where they dissect what went in to the decision to sell, and to buy, the metrics considered to come to a valuation and then finally, near the end of part two, you learn the price paid for the blog.

Now this might not seem like a big deal to some people.  But, buying and selling blogs is a pretty new phenomenon and there are different things to consider than perhaps when buying a website, a domain name or even an ezine.

These are two savvy guys and the discussion is worth every minute as they discuss page rank, link backs, blogger personality and more.  Take some time and listen.  I guarantee you'll learn a lot about Internet marketing.
